TheReal7,

Thank you for posting this simple technique. I had it working well until I tried to make it complicated :)

I accidentally set my canvas color to black and now I can't set it back to the empty mode, only another color.

Does anybody have any idea how to set the canvas extension color back to a blank?

TIA

Oops, I figured it out. Forgot to make the original layer a floating layer

Probably this is an easy to answer question but I just don't get how do you keep the proportions of an image with this border. I mean if I have a 6x4 image and I add the border to it with the technique described it will throw the proportions out since you adding the same amount of pixels to both the height and the width of the image. It wont be a 6x4 image anymore so it wont print nicely on a 6x4 paper...

Thank you sooooo much! There is so much talking, and less teaching. Not that I haven't learned a TON here, just not for a while. This was so beneficial! It taught me a couple of great things. Here is my pic.

CVT, your situation is a little different then how I set up this tutorial. You may want to set up a template with the border you want for a and drop in the photos behind it as needed.

You should be able to find it under the Windows menu.

^how is this done....does any one know? I understand it's probably just a simple white layer over the photo, but how do you create the cut outs?

(I'm referring to the attached image from above)

This time i nailed it.

when back step by step and found out where i had stuffed up...

In the correct procedure you have to click on Scotts music site and listen to his album "Fata Morgana" and then everything works just fine!!!! Well done on everything Scott.

The photo was taken today with wicked off shore winds making plumes of water vapour 100 feet high. Great show.
