The second shot is good, but I think it would be substantially better if she were looking at the camera. It looks like she was distracted at the last second and looked away as the shutter was depressed. I agree with the others that a narrower depth of field in would also have improved the shot. The second would've been better with a smaller DOF to "knock out" the background in my opinion.
