Old Towne Alexandria, VA POTN Meet in Late April or Early May

For those who missed the Cherry Blossom meet...we are planning an Old Towne Alexandria, VA meet soon...late April or early May before it gets too warm.

Three wonderful photo ops: panoramic view of Old Towne from the steps of the George Washington Masonic Temple (you can see the entire city from there); visit to the Alexandria National Veterans Cemetery (about 1/2 mile away); and then a trip down King Street to the waterfront and the Marina...here we can photograph the waterfront activity plus the old building architecture dating back to the 1700s; and then top it all off with a nice seafood lunch at one of the many great restaurants at the Marina area

If you are interested then post your best Saturday date and time. To hit all three locations will take about 4-5 hours...if time is an issue then we could take the first two photo ops and save the Waterfront-Marina for a seperate meet.

I'll be up for this, it just depends when. My son is in little league until June, so it just depends on the timing.

I love Old Towne Alexandria. The Mount Vernon bike trail, from DC to mt Vernon is a favorite of mine. I will be in Maryland this week and may have some time for some shooting this Friday or Saturday.

I am tentative. Firm up the date. I have a wedding to shoot on May 3rd...

I just saw this thread. I live in Alexandria, but unfortunately will be out of town on May 3. Let me know if the date changes...I'd love to come!

I am out of town on business and will return on 6 May...let's shoot for a mid-May date...perhaps the 17th...or the 24th...will these work?

I was great meeting you an your wife at the temple a few weeks ago. i would love to join in on this shoot. I just ordered some "stuff" and should have my new lenses by then. I took your advice and got the Canon 70 - 200f/4L... I just can't wait to use it.

These are great. I got one at the same cemetery early this spring. I wanted to go back and take a couple more of this angel, but unfortunately now the leaves are blocking the view.

I think the 17th would work for me. Not sure about the 24th.
