Title says 1D III but picture and spec sheet say 1Ds III. Whichever it is, the price is under £2,000 and can be mail ordered or reserved for store pickup. This is almost certainly a pricing error, regardless of which camera they are actually selling, but as this is a general electrical store and not a camera specialist I doubt they'd be aware at the counter that the price was screwy.

Get approx 2% cash back by going via http://www.quidco.com/empiredirect/ (external link). You'll need to be a signed up member of Quidco in order to get the cash back.

Best UK price otherwise is around £2349 for the 1D3 and £4700 for the 1Ds3 - http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/cat1.html (external link)

All the features listings indicate 1Ds too. Even so, for a 1D3, thats a good price. Make sure you're not getting a low serial, although saying that surely that old stock is long gone.

I won't be buying one, but I posted here in case anyone else is tempted. I'm happy with my 30D and 40D bodies. Sure, I'd love a 1D3 for the features and performance, but I don't want my EF-S lenses to become useless and I don't want my EF telephoto lenses to suddenly lose a whole bunch of length. I'm sticking in 1.6 cropper territory for the forseeable future.

Length isn't everything, width counts too :D I was very pleased with the extra width I got from my 1.3x crop and didn't really notice the drop off from the longest focal length.
