Well you can imagine my surprise waking up to quite heavy snow over the easter weekend which meant I had good chance of getting some time in the hide.

Before I started I had the dilema of moving my table etc as giving the birds distance from me ( you might think as we all want to be close) but I have studied the birds and the starlings, sparrows, blue/great tits, robin are all very nervous and they know Im in there.
So now I have to use the 600 naked or with tc's

All shots 40d 600mm lens (refractor scope 3" camera adapter 2"extention tube)

This is my first thrush 2008 and I would'nt have got it with out the help from my lens 600mm +1.4 tc f/f in height
looks 3D.

naked 600mm

this time I added the 2xtc just to get that head shot

thanks for looking :D

The backgrounds are very smooth and creamy... what is a "refractor" scope? It doesn't sound like it would be so silky, especially through a TC... but there it is.

I don't know. I think you should save up for a 600mm instead. :) Those shots make us poor folks envious... :)

Jason, you did a superb job with that little telescope!! You must be very experienced at manual focusing! I have a 5" refractor and now I need to get a camera mount for it (too heavy to carry around though).
