The unofficial first 1DMIII vs 5DMII, which one should I get thread.

Ok, since the unofficial 5DMII has 29pt AF, 15MP, Dual Digic III, 14bit, 3" 900k LCD and 6fps. How will this affect your future buying decisions?

I'm having a hard time deciding between the 1DMIII and the 5DMII.

Hmm, my choice between the 2 would be for the camera that actually exists. Although the mythical 5D MKII does sound swell!

You forgot ISO 12800 with custom function to 25600 :)

And is has a setting to switch it between full frame, 1.3 and 1.6 crops.

Niether! I'd go for a Nikon. But that's just me... ;)

Kidding of course.

Yeah- I know... I actually really like that Nikon D3- WAY out of the price range though and I have Canon gear... not a bad choice for someone without any Canon stuff...

Realistically, we all should be preparing for this question, because come April 22nd, we will be bombarded with it. If the new 5D replacement is priced the same as the 5D, it will debut around $3300. By then, the used MKIII prices will have dropped pretty close (around $3400-3500, given that current used prices are around $3800). Because they will be so close, there will be post after post of this question. Then you will start seeing the "What lens for my 5D MKII, 24-70 or 24-105L"...

I've noticed that the future has a way of turning out in such a way as to maximise my embarrassment, so without further ado, I confidently predict that there will be no announcement of the 5D successor on 22 April.

Go ahead universe - embarrass me! - I can take it.
