Cuban Laurel Thrips
I hate these guys. I'm all itchy just looking at these pictures. I figured they were gross enough to shoot before I cut all the affected leaves from my bonsai and spayed it down with neem oil.
I stacked all three of my Kenko tubes and used an 85mm lens. Both shots at 1/200 sec at f/7.1.

Feeding on the leaf causes it to fold in on itself. You have to get hands-on to get these pests in their natural habitat. I used a tripod and a remote trigger to set up this shot.
