I can't imagine spending more than 10k on this hobby. My wife would kill me.
Not unless this is my main source of income.

Part of the reason I got the poll going was that when I looked at many folk's gear lists, I mentally would tally up $10K or more. So, curiosity was part of this I guess. Take care. ![]() Well in that case I could say I have only spent $80.00 on all of my new camera gear, one screw on lens hood and a Canon backpack EG200. As for the rest of the gear, the wife talked my Mom into buying me the Canon 40D with 28-135 lens which is what started me back into needing more gear. The wife then told me to get the 17-85 f3.5 USM IS lens with hood she saw on sale (used) when we were looking for a camera bag. Was planning on getting just the $59.00 after market flash but the wife saw the rebate from Canon for the EX580 II and ordered that instead. Now she bugging me to get the 70-200 2.8L IS after seeing the pictures I took with one someone else's lens who let me try a few shots (sweet lens too) on my camera. Only thing is I'm not really sure who's hobby all this new gear is for me or the wife or is she planning on getting me back into shooting wedding> Remember, Stressed spelled backward is Desserts.

If I won the lottery or something then sure I'd buy alot more than a small handfull of lenses. A nice 40D or 5D, 70-200 2.8 IS, $1000 zoom lens of some sort (ie 24-105L), maybe a UWA lens.
