what does a freelance photographer shoot ?

im curious as to what a freelance photographer shoots
by the name it sounds like they shoot everything

im just wondering

there will be some that shots everything, and some that just shots their field on concentration or expertise.

A freelance photographer will shoot anything under the Sun that he feels qualified enough to shoot in whether it is be it Events, Pets, Headshots, Location Portraiture, whatever.

The term "freelance" is taken from the old world Knights who would roam about offering their services as a Knight to fight battles - the earliest Mercenaries. He carried his lance with him wherever he worked and that's how we got the term "free lance".

Shoot enough and eventually you'll find which market you are able to provide and make $$ for - eventually becoming a "professional" photographer - a term I really dislike.

When I first started freelancing, I'd shoot anything that came my way. These days I'm far more selective and only shoot what interests me.

Im freelance. Heck I was at my property riding atv's yesterday when I saw the power company changing pole parts with a helicopter, pulled out the 70-300mm and starting taking pictures and now they want to do a shoot :)
