ok guys, we all know how expensive (you want it to be) our hobby is. but is photography your only obsession? i noticed alot of you guys having really nice cars/bikes. but how many of you dabble in more than one money-munching hobby? for myself i limit it to max of 2, the other being PC gaming. but when a large expense is required, i'll have to pick only one to 'upgrade' at any one time. what i found is that my PC gaming hobby complements my photography nicely - the kind of hardware required for gaming is more than enough to speed up my photo-editing work!!

Motorcycling- Big Bucks but great fun.
Scuba Diving- Not quite as much as photography costs
Computers- I consider this as a photography benefit but it's also my profession
Audiophile, Yes very expensive but it helps with the other hobbies
Backpacking- Part of what got me interested in photography
Bicycling- It's just fun

Gardening, only because the wife loves it so much and requires me to till
Woodworking, Because I love it and our house needs work

Photography isn't an obsession for me. Merely a means to do what I really love. Explore the wilderness.

I'm so obsessed with this obsession that I don't have time to be obsessed with any other obsession.

oh yes i do! depends on where you're located, you'll soon run out of things to shoot. thats when i head for the mouse and keyboard. i used to think its a sign to hang out the camera but big mistake! if its in you, it'll stay with you for life. 18 years and counting...

None. Photography takes away the money I might have used on in another hobby. Takes away the time too. A typical outing to shooting birds takes about 3 to 4 hours (hiking around my local park). Once I am home, I have to spend another 2 to 3 hours on PP work. Is a pain because these are bird shots and so the subjects don't normally pose in perfect position. Since I am into bird photography, there is always something different in each outing. It keeps me motivated to go out more and to shoot more. Of course, it "motivates" me to spend more money on a faster and longer lens too......

i've yet to see anyone reply "videography".
my oh my... brand wars is one thing, still vs moving pictures is another.
tried that before but still preferred photography. videography w/o proper editing equipment/software loses its appeal pretty fast.
