There is a nice, simple outline of some of the techniques used in bird shooting and particularly birds in flight. Uses captive birds but the principles all valid.

Great link, he did make BIFfing look really easy though! I wish it was that easy.

Yeah, was funny when he took just a few quick demo shots and every time he chimped the resulting images they were perfect :-) Some of the other video's are definately worth a look.

I have contacted the Birds of Prey Centre to enquire about them putting on a half day 'Owl Experience with photography' event for POTN and the price for a small group of maybe 6-8. Will post when I get a response.

Yeah, that made me laugh too, especially the barn owl shot.

Where's that? If its reasonably close I'd totally be up for that.

Bedfordshire ... just up the road from me. Would need a car but I can hire one for the day, or Paul Wyatt is a member here and not far from me so he might give me a lift if I ask nicely. The place is here (external link)

Phew, that's a long drive for me down in Tunbridge Wells but could be worth it, can you drop me a PM if it gets organised?

Will do and even if I don't organise a trip I might just pop up one day myself and then report back so folks can decide if it's worth the trip. I should have some more free time over the next month or so - too much work has been makin' me a dull boy
