Boys U12 Soccer

These shots are from a tournament in NJ my son's team playing in last weekend. Because it was a tournament there wasn't a clean background anywhere. Any c&c is welcome. I seemed to have shot and/or cropped looser than I usually do. I think some could be tighter. All were shot with a 1dMkIIn and 70-200 2.8 w/1.4x teleconverter. Exif is intact.

One question, what metering mode did you use? The EXIF states "pattern" (not sure what that equates to...). I usually use Evaluative however I have seen/heard some use Center-Weighted Average. Any thoughts?

I was going to try CWA yesterday at my sons HS match and I screwed up and selected Partial Metering instead...that was not the right one!

Pattern is just standard evaluative metering. However, I was shooting manual so it didn't really matter anyhow. For soccer I usually always meter off the grass and use that or maybe 1/3 stop over.

Number 5 is my fav.

I have a similar shot taken a few months back. Also under 12's. Was my first day out with the 70-200 2.8L. I instantly fell in love with the lens
