I think I may try them a few stops higher to see if they sharpen a little.

I think you are correct about the smaller apeture.

A little sharper would be nice but they are still good pics.

I used to have a 75 gallon and 55 gallon with nothing but chiclids. My parents own a feed and pet store and I would get a great discount (free). I would even travel to the fish supplier, about 6 hours round trip, the day they got their shipments and get to hand pick my fish.
