Hello everyone,
I am a 17 year old high school junior and I am seriously considering photography as my major in college. I started traditional 35mm photography last September. Now, I have my own darkroom at home and I am trying to get into digital photography. I understand the basics of aperature and shutter speed, but I'm still unsure of some techniques.
My photography teacher is currently away on maternity leave, so I have nobody else to ask for advice. I am looking for ideas of things to shoot that I can practice easily, and also some easy-to-understand books on the fundamental elements of photography. I cannot drive yet (hopefully getting my license this summer, I live about 60 miles east of NYC so I will be able to take photos there), so I have trouble finding interesting subjects to shoot. I really want to learn more and make sure this is what I want to major in.
Basically I am looking for advice on ways that I can learn more without taking a class, and maybe what you did to learn techniques.
