Ian rush, famous European footballer who played for Liverpool (won European cup with them). I wasn't a soccer fan, and my brother's mate was a mad Liverpool fan. When the photo disappeared, it was a year or two til Bro admitted giving it away. Hence no photo to show. :-(

Prince Charles & Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall during a visit to Brisbane (04 Apr 2018) prior to attending the opening ceremony of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.:-)

Whilst waiting for some 2 hours for the Royal party to arrive, I endured 2 heavy monsoonal downpours, the 1st one including rice sized hail stones…. Luckily, I had packed a waterproof for me and a waterproof cover for the camera rucksack, so all remained dry.

The place was overrun with men in grey suits, waists bulging with concealed weapons and comms gear, as well as media crews, politicians and dignitaries. It was a hectic session, especially trying to shoot through the pack of security personnel, dignitaries, escorts, etc. The official photographers were swarming around the entourage as it made its way through the crowds (behind barriers) making it even more difficult to get a clean shot.

This is my first encounter with any members of the Royal Family and at face value, Prince Charles and Camilla appeared to be very engaged with the locals as they moved down the line of barriers, genuinely appreciative of the opportunity to interact with the crowd, receiving numerous bunches of flowers, small gifts and mementos. There was a 21-gun salute across the river which shook the ground with its intensity and startled the birds for miles around.

I was shooting with a 70-200mm from behind folks lined up 5 or 6 deep. All I could hope to grab were head shots in the few fleeting gaps, most of them obstructed by the various minders and the crowds’ raised iPhones/iPads/Tablets. Out of 70-80 shots, some 4 or 5 were useable.

Cheers

Dennis

Not ended up, was cheating from day 1. Diana was an heir provider, once she’d done that duty she was surplus to requirements.
