I have a lot to go thru, either puzzle thru looking at negs, or scanning all of them to create easily viewable JPG.

When my mom passed away in her home I found a few box's filled with slides, they where in what I guess is called slide holder, a plastic tray that could be loaded into a slide projector.

Most where family photos and a few of them where of me as a child, I bought a nice scanner and slide by slide, the scanner could do 4 or so at a time I scanned about 400 slides.

Due to the way she stored them some where in bad shape, but I scanned all of them anyhow.

When we moved from Plantation to Davie 4 trays disappeared, how I have never figured out, but long after I had a HD failure and that is when I discovered the trays where missing.

That was one of those moments where I wanted to twist my leg around so I could kick my butt for not keeping track of the trays and a backup of that HD.

A lesson learned the hard way.

How pleasant of a person, to smile and wave at a high schooler photographer. Certainly not the jaundiced self-centered celebrity who comes to disdain attention from photographers and journalists!
We found Big Brother band members to all be very pleasant and accomodating, and not rushing us to finish. They even offered us some brownies kept in a big vat (we passed...it was known to be laced with marijuana and Southern Comfort). And Peter Albin invited us to stay for the concert.

Not sure what you gig was back then, but when I was in my late teens I worked weekends at the Hollywood Sportatorium, AKA the Snortatorium.

I was getting paid peanuts, but I worked backstage and that gave me access to whoever was putting on a show that night, what I discovered was lot of rock bands had no problem posing for photos, sometimes, if they had one, the Road Manager would ask me to send him copies of my photos, which I actually sold a few of.

I was a senior in high school, photography editor of the high school glossy page newspaper. For each edition there was an interview with a notable personality, and/or an interview with a sports notable. Someone (not sure who) arranged for us to go backstage to internview Big Brother and the Holding Company, so the Feature Editor and I went to where the performance was to take place, presented ourselves, and were taken backstage before the performance.
Due to these pr-arranged interviews of celebrities, I had a chance to meet about 4 different political/entertainment notables, and about 4 different notable sports figures. Almost always on a school day (not weekend) the Feature Editor and myself, or the Sports Editor and myself, were often granted excused absences from classes in order to conduct the interviews. It certainly helped that all of us had high academic ranking in our class, and no one ever challenged the absences. Sometimes we would show up like usual for class, and the newspaper faculty moderator would tell to rush home to shower and dress up for the interviews and be at a certain location at a certain time. Since the Business Edtor happened to have a car, he typically went along with us, providing the transportation.

I saw lots of famous people during my 37 year career at Grand Central Terminal but only got to capture two on camera.
Anna Nicole Smith and Joan Rivers

On a slightly more morbid side, this is a shot I grabbed of Phil Keating taking a break while reporting on the death of Anna Nicole Smith from the Broward County ME's office.

Lived across the street from Joan back in the 70's. But I never took a picture of her.

Can sports figures count as famous? I lived in the Kingdome for a few years and never kept anything. What a hole.

Anyway, I'm setting up before the game and there's kids getting awards or something. Billy Martin walks by, points at the girl and says, bring your bat. They blistered a few into the gap and he went back into the clubhouse.

I was in Austin for work. Stopped at a bar to have a drink and Gerry Gibbs was playing. He's quite a unique drummer. I mentioned I had my gear in my room just two blocks away and if they'd mind if I shot them. He was very gracious as was the entire band. It was a fun night. He invited me to a show the following week, but I returned with the 'rona so I was not able to attend...
