Broad winged hawk

This hawk is not uncommon in Antigua, but he is pretty damned hard to get close to, so I was really happy with this series.

The images are quite heavily cropped, because I was still quite a distance away taking these, up in the mountains. So the image quality isn't as good as it should be, but hey, sometimes you have to compromise.

It has a local name of "chicken hawk" ...Unfortunately it didn't take him long to realise I was no chicken, and he flew away quite quickly.

1. On the look out for some food.

Most fine! Your EXIF says you shot it at 700mm, so I guess you made full use of your extender. I'm impressed with the clarity, despite the cropping.

pmk, I was even surprised myself how clear these came out when I cropped them, with a little noise reduction, they turned out almost as clear as the originals, just luck I guess!

Sean these are very clear, and great, shots despite your claim of them being heavily cropped.

Outstanding images Sean. I can't think of anything I would do to improve them.

Normcar, you're right it was a pretty tough background to shoot with, and a foreground for that matter, PS helped a lot with these (cloning)
