So, I really would like to take a camera with me when I go out riding, and don't wanna bring my XT and glass. I was looking at sub $200 Canons. Whats good out there right now? The PowerShot SX100 seemed nice.

What is important to you? I recently got a 720is. Does the camera need to fit into a small pocket? I like the 6x zoom and all the manual controls on my camera.

Just wanting nice pictures. It'll be tossed in my camelback while riding.

You might look at the SD870IS. Has the 28mm wide angle lens and that is really nice. Paid $269 - so that is over your budget.

The sx100 is very nice, IMO. It's smaller than an XT but bigger and heavier than what I'd want bouncing around on my back - but I'm a roadie, not a MTBer, so take it with a grain of salt. A camera on a bike ride has to be a compromise of some sort. My compromise is an sd400 that fits in a jersey pocket.

Not to worried about weight. Ride around on a steel hardtail and 3l of water in my backpack. :) I'm gonna check some things out tommorow or tuesday.

My mom got the sx100 and the image quality looks pretty nice.
