Sensor response for 20D

Hi everyone
I am starting to use my 20D for astrophotography and would like to get hold of a graph showing how the 2D deals with frequencies across the visable spectrum. Does the CMOS sensor deal with all frequencies equally? Trying to find the spectrual curve of the 20D has defeated me. It would be fantastic if any member knows where I can download such information.

It might be that CMOS sensors have a flat response across the visible spectrum. If so, then that is all I need to know.

(From my trial runs to date I am never going back to film. Being able to record 16.5 mag stars in 3 minute exposures (400ISO using f/8 scope) compared to 30 minutes with 400ISO film. Furthermore no more reciprocity failure and skewed colour.)
Cheers
Doug

try digging around in here

http://www.astrosurf.com/buil/ (external link)

also it's not really sensor response but the response of the infrared cut filter and individual r g b filters on the photosites. the ir cut filter can be removed and replaced with a flat piece of glass of the same dimensions to improve sensitivity in ir

agree with bloodfalls above. It is primarily the IR blocker

The sensor doesn't really deal with spectral frequencies. It has three kinds of sensor elements—red, green, and blue—and the software that converts the Raw data combines the data from multiple elements to make colors in the image.

Each Raw converter has its own way of interpreting sensor data into a color image, and most of the controls in the Raw converter have an effect on the process: color space, white balance, saturation, hue (color tone for the in-camera conversion), vibrance, contrast, sharpness, etc.

Get an EOS 20Da.
