ok, I went to the Mustang and Mustangs show at the fantasy of flight (well, thats not the official name of the show though) and just before i was gonna leave, they were gonna fly the DUCK and i was standing behind the runway (near the connie) video taping it taxing and taking off... but the thing is, he got too close to where everyone was standing and when he put full power on, everyone got blinded by dirt and wind... like a helicopter landing a few feet away. I was still filming still at this point and i got some dirt and dust behind the outer lens and on the sensor I believe. Is there any way to easily take (just the lens part) apart the camera and clean that part of it? or would i have to take it somewhere like Ritz (Wolf) camera and see if they could help? I wanted to ask here because I know i'll get some decent responses. Thanks in advance.

Hope the shots came out well. Post 'em! But that's one of the reasons I use filters on my DSLR lenses.

I wouldn't recommend trying to disassemble the lens; let Canon handle that.

Well, i was taking video (i did manage to get it landing... after the camera was kinda looking at the sky)... so, I should send it to canon? Thanks for your fast reply as well!

EDIT: the camera still functions and works properly, its just theres a few noticeable dust spots on the screen now.

On the screen only, or on the downloaded photos/videos?

I think just the screen, I did take 1 picture (while driving) and the picture is normal. So i don't think its on the lens itself.

If you're only seeing the spots on the camera's LCD, not after downloads, I'd leave them unless they really bother you . . .

not really, as long as my pictures (and videos) come out the way they are supposed to, won't bother me.

ISTR there are a few threads around from people who've replaced LCDs; you could clean behind the cover, and at less risk than lens rebuilding, if it got too bothersome.
