Where did you get it from? Retailer you can return camera to?
Obvious but have to say it; make sure lens cap is off, verify batteries are good, check your display button. It's okay, u can say "already done it dummy" :-)
Call Canon and use your warranty or return it to the store. It's to new to settle for less than perfect expectations.

Check that the battery compartment door is securely closed.

On your second question, could you start a new thread and fill in the details?

Someone already mentioned the display button. The blank LCD screen has happened to me several times, and each time it was because I had accidentally bumped the display button. Just to be sure it isn't that...do this:
a) press the display button
b) press the display button a 2nd time
c) press the display button a 3rd time
It takes 3 times to get the picture back on mine...then all is fine. Hope yours is that simple.

Actually I live in Sri Lanka but my friend bought it for me at B&H. To get it across would mean I would have to wait till someone goes to the US and it is not like everyday does anyone fly out there.

If the camera is still within the B&H return time policy, why can't you just return it from where you are?

No mail service or a corrupt mail service would be my guess. It was like that in Panama.

Hi,
Did you have a warranty card of this camera? You can also check battery compartment door is securely closed. I problem is still then you go to the shop where you purchase it.

I may have said I have done everything but anymore suggestions would be helpful. How do I set the camera to default settings on the zoombrowser. When I set it on the camera that is when I press OK it says busy and that is about it.

Realizing where you live I can understand your predicament.

First thing to do is send Canon a email with the serial #, place of purchase, date of purchase and a complete description of the problem describing the things you have tried to do ask for suggestions.
Be sure you tell them where you live, Sri Lanka is not exactly well known and explain the mailing situation.
By doing this you might be able to get it fixed by there service dept through email or at least they will be aware of the situation, also keep all associated emails.

If they still have the military plane traffic in and out maybe you could get one of the military guys to mail it when he flies out to another place not so remote.

Good luck, Changeling
