After a lot of hair pulling out, plus the odd bit of steam coming out of the ears, I have finally come to my decision, with a bit of help, on this weeks winner.......

This has got to be one of the hardest competitions so far to judge, and if there could be joint winners you would all be sorting out the next comp..............

The winner is ...............shannyD with eyes wide open.......... this is just a fantastic photo, the expression on the boy's face is just something else, and his eyes just draw you into the picture and keep you there......... I would love to know a bit more about this photo, and why or what caused the expression on his face. WELL DONE Shanny a deserved winner, by a smidgen!!!

When i have a bit of time I always like to comment on everyones photos, so here goes...........

Stefan........ I really do like this picture and without a problem would have this picture to hang on my wall!!!
Fire34fighter........ Lovely coloured bird, and a great capture as wild birds aren't easy to get.
Lionstone....... Stunning colours, and the background really makes this picture.
SF1........ Another stunning picture with an eye that draws you into the picture......
Airfrog......... A different picture, and a great shot in the circumstances, but not something I would ever want to take, as my stomach can't take blood and guts even when it's on telly......
Olyst..... Very simple shot but very powerful with it's meaning, well done....
Jason C........ Great shot and reminded me of the sort of shots we saw in the past, of boxers before a fight...... I really did like this in black and white, well done
Ed..... This is a cracker and I just love seeing the lion shots. This shot really stood out because of the great focus on the "whole" of the front of lion........ well done
Flo....... love the expression of the baby, and those eyes...... a heart breaker when he gets older........
Pete....... This is just a superb shot, with the eye of the parrot being A1 pin sharp, and the great background colours making a fantastic backdrop...... WELL DONE....
DozerLYP.........This is a great shot and I'm guessing that this should have been named JailBreak?? WELL DONE
RX350.... Another shot that I would have no problem hanging on one of my walls. The clarity is fantastic for a night shot!!!
Eastcoastsponger........ A shot that would bring a tear to anyones eye. Great capture and such a sad photo.......
Divinemethod.......Great eyes and another candidate for heart breaking when she gets older....
Davo........ Different to say the least, but I like it and this would have been a far greater shot if you could have brought the eyes out more, and reduced the brightness around the head!
Chandler..... Great shot with a stunning background... your time and effort to build the rock "formation" really paid off.......
Mikerault..... I really do like this shot, and taking it in black and white has really paid off.... Well Done
ilmk..... So summer IS really on it's way :) I would have liked the body of the ladybird to be clear of sand, and a bit of fill flash might have brought it's colour out a bit more, but all in all not a bad shot of one of the prettiest beetles around...
Shadiow....... Great clarity and colours and I really do like the angle that this was taken at..... Well Done
Monty...... What a stunner :) dare I say that this is an Irish bar lol Love the colours and the reflections of the lights over the sign, and the clarity is perfect..... Well Done...

ohh wow.. im totally at a loss because i wasnt expecting anything.

but a little about the photo.. this is my 5 year old son aidan, hes a pretty animated kid. one day, all day long he was just off the walls, and i told him that i was going to take a picture of him acting silly, and post it for the world to see. at that moment he made that face, and a few days later, i found it, and did my edit on it, and posted it here.

i really thank you for looking at my photo. there were others that are just awesome as well..

heh heh heh i feel kinda special. lol

thank you, and i will post something soon to cary on the tradition.

shannon

Yes, thanks for the write-up on all entries, way cool. And of course, congrats Shanny!

All of the entries were of such outstanding qualities, well, except perhaps the one of that ugly dude in the b&w...;)

You are all inspirations to acheive awesome captures.

Congrats ShannyD - I loved that photo!! I can see that it would have been a tough choice with so many great entries, but it was a good choice.

I have come to like candid shots so much better than posed portraits. ... Of course, they fill different needs and serve different purposes, but still, the candids can be great. This is no exception!! Thanks for posting again!!
