Digital Ixus 400 broken - any help?

Hello!

My Digital Ixus 400 just broke. The funny thing is, that it broke in the same way as my two previous canon cameras, just after the warranty period expired.

You can see what the problem is (probably DIGIC processor is corrupted)

I wonder if it is possible to repair such damage? Do you have any experience with such a problem? Is it worth repairing at all?

Check out the sticky on Service Notice on Canon P&S at the head of this forum; that might be your problem; the Ixus 400/S400 Elph is one of the affected models.

Thank you, I really had no idea that so many models are affected :D

I just hope that Canon will fix this for free or for small fee for non-US resident.

Check with your local/regional Canon office. The link's to Canon USA; I know at least some other Canon regional offices are honoring it.

yep they will,. got the ixus400, same prob and canon repaired here in aussie for nothing apart from initial postage to canon.
