Just curious. I won some money recently and decided to put a bit more in to the order and came up with this. How'd I do?

Canon 50mm f/1.8 II
Canon 28-105 f/3.5-4.5 II USM
Canon BG-E1 Battery Grip
Canon 58mm UV-1 Filter
Lowepro CompuTrekker AW

Got all my goodies in today. I had every intention of going outside to mess with them as soon as I got them. Well, they rolled in here just in time for me to get everything put together and look outside to see that night had already come.

Oh well, I'll try tomorrow. I guess my only complaint about all of this would be that the CompuTrekker's notebook pocket is REALLY REALLY tight for my Dell Inspiron 2650...not in heighth or width, but in depth. This thing definitely couldn't hold something any thicker.

Edit: Oh and a couple of other things. I gotta say, that 28-105 USM is QUIET when focusing and man is it fast. The 50mm one is actually a good bit faster focusing than my kit lens (though it's still about as loud). Conclusion - That kit lens really isn't a good lens.

The kit lens IS a decent lens... I have taken some GREAT pictures with that lens.... GREAT pictures.... Its not a SUPERB lens but it works really well for outdoor work.... Indoor work, well, I'm not that impressed with it... I have some pictures from my trip to California that really impressed me, one of which was published.... I have another picture of a B-25 that I took that I posted here AWHILE back that no one liked because of the angle of which I shot it but the quality was excellent and that one also got published and it was shot off the EF-S lens...

Maybe the 50mm 1.8 is junk also... should of bought the 1.4 :) lol

Anyways, that computrekker is a nice bag, isn't it! :)

In the technical aspects of the lens (I guess everything but optics), it seems far superiour than the other two lenses. Optical quality...well, I've taken some decent shots with it. I'm sure it has potential...esp at the 18mm range.

As far as the CompuTrekker goes...yes...VERY nice bag!!
