Thanks for entering, all! I was pleased with the number of entries.

This was a tough one to judge, but here goes:

First Place - Corn and Beans by urcunina - Great composition and plenty of green!

Second Place - Hide and Seek by dale500 - Another one with great composition and lots of green.

Third Place - Green Victorinox by prcstn8 - Very good composition on this one. It really appealed to me.

Honorable Mention - Well the Bridge is Brown by Paul B

Honorable Mention - Portland Japanese Gardens by snowrdr

Disqialified entries were: msowsun (file siae over 200k), old man don (file size over 200k), note17 (fole size over 800 pixels on longest side).

Also DreDaze, yous would have been in contnetion is it had a title.

O.K., on to the next contest!

"green entry" actually was my title...not the wittiest of titles...but it worked for me...either way liked the broad topic to get more entries...congrats to the winners...

edit...just wanted to say quarters...you're shot blew me away...great capture

Good choices! Its easy to see this would not be any easy one to judge.
I knew I was missing a step before posting, thank you for your professional and always complete comments .

Not trying to start an argument but I would like to understand the rules of the game - Portland Japanese Gardens didn't have a title in the subject line but got an honorable mention. Green Entry made an attempt at a title, maybe not a very creative one, but was disqualified.

Can someone please explain this to me? I'm not questioning the judging, I'm questioning (and I know I'm not the first to do so) the contest format and the hit-or-miss way the rules seem to be applied lately.

Thanks Edd S for giving me the first place. And my compliments to you for your subject GREEN. You got a nice number of interesting photos. I hope that I can think of as good subject as well...

Sorry for the oversight. I try to be consistant in applying the rules.

Just to make it official "Green Entry" by DreDaze is now one of the Honorable Mentions.

You all may notice that not onlt in the sublect line, but in the message I put my title of the entry. In fact, I introduce it in the message as "Title:" then put the title name.
