Hi guys,

We had a little snow here in Swindon. England over the weekend and I got a few AEB shots off. I may have gone a little arty with this one though would value all of your inputs.

Cheers,
Nick.

maybe a little "hazy", but a cool photo!

increase the contrast a little bit, maybe adjust the fill light / recovery and sharpen it a bit to get rid of that haze :/

the haze and noise kind of distracts me. Nice theme though.

Thanks for the advice Charles. I've made a couple changes based on your suggestions and feel I have lost must of the haze. I have given it a little punch in lightroom though think I may take the lighting off the tree in PS later... Here is the current effort.

I like your second version better Nick...

In your original, the snow just didn't have enough "pop" given that it's in sunshine.

You've done a fine job preserving the details...Very Nice!!

I like both of the versions equally. They are both great.

I like the second one. Did you use PhotoMatix?

Thanks for the feedback. I did use Photomatix Pro for this one. I find you get a more artistic effect with photomatix while CS3 brings an hdr image into more reality.

Nick.

Hey Nick, I for one prefer the PhotoMatix Pro look over the "natural" look, although, I would love to know how to do tone mapping, as it seems to bring out the dark areas of under exoposed images. and I still have no idea oh what the sliders do, I just play till it looks like something I like. :)

I do admit it though, I can get lost for long periods of time in the Flickr HDR Pool (external link) section.
