Those are both fantastic shots Great Job! Would you mind sharing some PP techniques used on the second photo?
Sure no problem, I've learned so much from the intarweb, you give some back every now and again.
I'll break it down from the bottom of the layers pile to the top
- Copy of the eyes only sharpened with unsharp mask
- Color Correction Curves Adj Layer
- Hue / Saturation Adj layer to desaturate the blue and green collar
- Levels adj layer set to Multiply for density
- Levels adj layer set to multiply to lessen highlights (highlights were selected with Color Range)
- Levels adj layer set to multiply to intensify shadows (shadows were selected with Color Range)
- 50% gray fill layer set to overlay. "Paint with light" blacks (at varying opacities) for shadows and white (at varying opacities) for highlights.
- Levels adj layer set to multiply for cheek burning
- Levels adj layer set to multiply for nose wrinkle burning
- Levels adj layer set to multiply for collar burning
- Levels adj layer set to multiply for vignetting
- Curves adj layer S-Curve for contrast
- Duplicate layer of back ground run thru hi-pass filter, opacity of 60% set to overlay.
I definitely say check out retouchpro.com for tips (I learned about PWL there). And my selections and adjustment layer workflow I learned from Katrin Eismann's book.
Hope this helps!
