Its not the typical where can I find a model release form.
I found one on google.
My question is what is the most efficient way of getting a copy to the model on site?
site meaning outside, no printer, no computer. Pen and the model form only.
should i just print double the amount and have them fill out twice? that seems pretty impractical. keep in mind, that this is a free shoot and I do not want to mail out copies to all the models.
any ideas?
there will be around 50 or so models.

Thank you,

Bryan

Well the only thing I can think of is to print out two of them. They don't really have to fill out much I don't think. It's more initial here and here and sign there. So that's what I would do unless you can get a laptop with a copier hooked up to it.

Hi,

I'm in the process of writing up a release form, too. So, while I'm not an attorney and certainly not an expert, I've been researching quite a few of them from different sources. (Most stock agencies and some photographers have one posted somewhere on their websites, plus I have 3 or 4 books with sample releases in them).

The iStockphoto release reads like others I've seen from stock agencies, and the UK in genera. I think UK releases tend to have some slight differences from the typical release I've usually seen used here in the US.

Frankly, I wasn't planning on giving the "model" a copy of the release, just one of my business cards. That allows me to use a two-sided release (I have a questionnaire on the back).

I'll be putting up a post with the release I've written up, combining ideas from many different sources. Take a look and see what you think. I'm trying to cover both model and property releases in one form, since I often need both with certain types of jobs I shoot.

I have my models sign a release/waiver that's 3-4 pages long. It's very in depth, and has to be because of my business. However, It's mostly written and not so many empty blanks. The models just initial each page and sign the last with their personal info. I think the istockphoto one is probably fine for basic photography.

I only have the models sign 1 copy (which is mine). If they want a copy then I'll send them one by email or fax if they leave me their info. If I'm working with 50 models that day, then I'm bringing 50 releases (plus a few extras just in case). It's cheap to make photocopies now adays. All you have to do is take the original copy and take it to the local kinkos.

its not about the fee of the copies. i was just wondering if the model needed a copy.
i will just have the initial somewhere if they would like to receive a blank copy of the release.

No, the models don't need a copy. I'll gladly send them a copy after the shoot if they want one, but I can't remember the last time anyones ever asked for one. Half of my models don't even really read the release to begin with.
