Or so the stury is told to me.....

Apparently only 25 of them were shipped to USA.

Apparently the recent earthquakes in Japan affected one of Canon's part suppliers.

Apparently the earliest my local camera store will get one is mid-to late December.

Meanwhile I am looking for alternative sources since it appears this information may be correct. I just have trouble believing only 25 were shipped to the US, especially given I can accound for at least 3 of those 25

Very annoying to say the least. Trying to verify in the 15 minutes I have left before heading for the aiport.

B&H will have them... check them every morning. I got one of there first shipment of 1D MkIIs just be hitting the website at the right time.

The demand for the new 1Ds is not nearly as high as it was for the 1D2 ... so hopefully the supply should be more able to keep up with demand. (despite the earthquake)
