Got a call while sitting at work asking if I had gear and could get to the park...why,, I ask? Turns out the local paper had some credentials with my name on em waiting at the media gate for opening day. Man was I happy and it was a glorious day to boot (if you recall, Cleveland got snowed out of opening day last season). Anyway, my wife ran my stuff down to the office and off I went. Most of these were shot at high shutter speeds with ISO in the 500-640 range and f4 (due to the 1.4x tc). CC had an off day but the Tribe pulled out a 10- victory in the end. Enjoy.

Good stuff Scott, was that your first MLB game? I'm going to try to make it over to Cleveland this summer to shoot an Indians game.

WOW! You really stepped up to the plate...sorta speak!!:D

Are you shooting with the 70-200 and 1.4x or did she (your wife) stop and rent a longer lens. They look GREAT. I especially like the clearity and the fact that I can even see the ball in the catchers mitt in #4.

Dude...I think there might be some more credentials waiting for you at the gate!! Ideally...you shouldn't have to wait!

If you haven't done it yet...pat yourself on the back!

Thanks Chris and yeah, that was my virgin go at it. Let me know if you come into town. You can have the beer I've been promising Janes if he ever makes it .

Magic, thanks as well, I never even thought to ask the wife to stop and rent me a 400 f2.8 (doh!). Hopefully, there will be some more credentials to follow as I really enjoyed being there and gaining the experience. I hope to get involved with a wire at some point so I need to keep building the portfolio.

I'm jealous! Sweet shots. Great color, exposure, sharpness and a nice bokeh. Nicely done.

If Janes won't come drink your beer, I sure will! :D

I'm working on the dates but the plans right now are to shoot the Detroit Tigers at Comerica, then on to Cleveland for the Indians, head over to Dayton to shoot the Dragons (MiLB), down to Cincinnati to shoot the Reds at Great American (that's a beautiful ballpark) and then over to Indianapolis to shoot the Indy Indians (MiLB) at Victory Field. Should be a fun trip.

I tagged one on last night to last me awhile...I have Lake County on my schedule twice over the next two weeks, but both weekday games (noon and 9:35am I do believe) - but it depends on the weather of course. Believe there's 13 games over 9 days for me coming up, not including ones I'll be coaching.

Nice pics BTW, got a buddy of mine in there lookin good for the Tribe.
