Selling Wedding Pictures to Florist?

Hello all,

I shot a wedding several months back and the florist wants some of the arrangement pictures. I've done some work for this florist before but I've never sold her single photographs.

I was leaning towards giving it to her for free, but I figure she would never hire me again if I just give her free pics.

Thoughts? References?

Thanks!

Dave

I need all the help I can get.

I don't know that she wouldn't ever hire you again because you gave her free pics, may she wouldn't expect to have to pay next time. Maybe you can barter with her for a couple of free arrangements. I know I could use a couple of those, for my wife every time I buy new camera equipment.

Also a good friendly connection with someone working with weddings may help drum up additional business.

Give the florist the prints in exchange for displaying your work and a keeping a pile of business cards in the store. If they want 30" wide pics, great, do them free. Put your URL on them, or business name, or something, discretely but so it's visible. I give free prints to any vendor who requests them.

I'm sure florists recommend photographers and vice-versa. This is how business grows.

Cheers
