I saw in this thread https://photography-on-the.net …381280&highlight=naneupro
that someone had bought separate inserts from NaneuPro. But I called them today and asked and the guy was not to thrilled at my proposal. When I referred to "someone else did it" he said maybe they got the insert from a returned bag and that it was not something they could do. Anyone else been able to buy separate inserts from NaneuPro? Did they stop selling them?
Their bags are way bigger (and pricier) than I need

They looked really good for my DYI messenger bag project, specifically the Tango one. Anyone know something with similar layout? Camera in the middle + deep pocket each side. Closest I've found on B&H are some Domke ones. Especially the "ears" on each side of the camera body seem to be a rear treat.

here's a picture of my "dream insert" :(

Idk, but that's weird and kinda rude o the guy. Never the less, go Domke or Tenba. I hear good things about Tenba, being a lot better than the Domke and the same price. You need a Tango I guess then since you mentioned price.

It may be size. You're asking for an awfuly large insert and if you mention the idea, well, common sense man.

"Hey, I don't your bag, but I want the inserts so I can get away with a cheaper bag using your inserts"

*rolls eyes* "Yeah, ok buddy. No."

Something better would be to explain you have one of their bags but your insert was getting worn or something happened to it. DIY bags can still be expensive pending the route you take so you might as well look into some alternatives. Mine luckily were very very cheap. SOme though have spend $50 on them.

Looked at the tenba ones too, they look ok, and not too expensive either. Found a very good candidate just now.

Yeah duh, I didn't start with "I'm making my own bag..." But didn't lie and say I had their bag either, could lead to questions about numbers and recipts anyway. Just asked whether they sold them seperate. Later I did say the bag was a little bigger than I need, like the inserts.. blabla.

The search continue, thanks!

Meh, if you said they were worn, he wouldn't ask for receipts. People don't keep them forever. Never the less, good luck, try calling back with a diff story. Still, may just because the Tango's are so large.

I was able to to order inserts from them. I called right after closing and the guy who answered the phone took my information and had them sent out the next day. https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=481213

That's a very nice insert. Do you have the measurement for it?

Also how much is it selling separately?

Thanks

huh. I sent an email this weekend inquiring about buying some inserts, got no reply yet. Maybe I won't get one at all...

I have the Tenba bag. The insert is kind of odd, in terms of divider configuration. I've swapped in some old Lowepro ones I had lying around and like them much better. The Naneu looked just like what I wanted.

Dude, chill... the price in the link in your post doesn't look like the picture you posted - it's for the smaller one.

And then there's a smaller one than that. I think I'm just going to get the Lima. it looks like a real nice bag.

yeah I know, their pictures are a mess. This is the one from the larger view of the Tango, but the small picture is from a smaller bag (I think)

I meant to point out that the whole point of this thread is that I was not able to buy them seperately, so I can't tell you the price. But if someone else know I would love to hear it too..
