I offered this to the paper myself, but I have no idea how much to charge.
There is a concert of Polish band in Toronto this weekend and Polish weekly might be interested in putting some pics in the next issue. How much to charge?
Also - in situation like this - is it enough to get a permission to take pics from the band or do I need to specify that I want to sell them? In writing or verbal is enough?
Thanx

Always in writing.

What to charge? You charge what your particular market can afford. Is it a small, neighborhood-band paper that gets stapled to wooden poles or the Toronto Sun? That makes a huge difference. If your market is small-time, $25-$50 is maybe all they can stand. If it's the Toronto Sun, then that's a whole 'nuther deal.

If you are selling them to a media organization for editorial usage, you do not need permission for sale. In doing so you are acting as a stringer (freelancer) for the Polish Weekly paper.

If you wish to sell these prints anywhere else, like for usage in a book, to a fan, etc.. You need written permission from your subject.

I hope I understood your question and this helps.

How much? That is up to you, and depends on what they norally pay. You could ask, but expect somewhere in the range of $15-50 per image for one time rights.
