I just ordered a 430 EX for my S5. Does it come with everything needed to attach it? I will be using it saturday for a senior shoot as fill flash out doors. I have never used a flash like this....is it generally easy to learn. It should be here Thursday so I will have a couple of days to practice. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Yepper It does, and youll be able to control it with the camera also. Works very well together. Just be sure the camera and flash are off when you mate and unmate.

I'm about to buy the 430EX why should it be on off both the camera and the flash?

Because when you slide the flash on to the hot shoe there is a possibility the contacts shorting across one another. I have heard and read of several folks that didnt power down and Its caused them problems.....besides Its just a smart way of doing it, why take the chance.

Melissa

The S5/430EX is a great combination.

If you'd like, take a look here for some 430EX test shots:

Enjoy.

Wow...looks like it makes quite a difference. Thanks for the link. Now if I can figure out how to use fill flash before my shoot on Saturday I will be good to go!
