LOL just as well I value your opinion so highly

Again, obviously yet another uninformed comment ..

Unfortunately, while it is opinion (and thus subjective, and filled with a little sarcasm), it is not uninformed.

So long and thanks for all the flash

No, but I have worked on one, among other VW's and Audi's from the same generation.
VAG are very good at their badge engineering, and even better at cutting costs and covering it up with marketing and brand image.

The first digital camera I bought, Sony DSC-P150. When I bought it new, it cost about $470, and the 512mb Memory Stick I bought cost $80.

Ah, good old Sony

Mine was the Sony Cybershot DCS-F717. Cost $1300, sold for $600 2½ years later

I had the F717.
I didn't like it at all.
Aside from it being the worlds ugliest camera, the menu system was the pits. I sold it for 450 Euro after 2 1/2 years! Couldn't believe anyone would pay so much.

I'll second that.
They are right up there with MX5s, n/a MR2's and 316/318i BMW's.

They scream:
"Hiya, look at me! I care more about how I look in my car, than how good my car is('nt)."

I have owned a golf (2 actually) since 1992. And I'm not a hairdresser... nor is my wife! Actually she drives them.

Yes it is interesting to see how other people crop your photos for use. Some time ago I took some photos for the homepage of the company I work in and particular the photo used on this (external link) page I was surprised how they cropped it. At first I thought they had combined 2 photos but then I realised they just cropped it differently. About 15 of the photos on that homepage was shot by me.

btw great photos.

Had a snoop, Tommy, nice work :)

I'm interested to see the croppage on mine, too

And thanks! :)

Heh - I was amazed I got so much for mine after 2½ years, too. I did like mine, though. I was surgically attached to my hip. My canon doesn't venture out as much

For those of you with the 20/30/40D + 24-105L - are you happy with the lens, but more importantly with the combo? Just thinking of a good walk around lens... 17-40 is too short, 70-200 too narrow...

I like it very much. Only had it for a few weeks but for a walk about lens it will be excellent. I think it will work well for me and the photographs I mostly take (snaps).

Not as heavy as the 24-70, and not as wide as the 17-55.

I can see I am going to buy a wide angle at some stage to go with the 24-105 and the 70-200.

yup very happ with it, gives really nice results on 40D and still pretty wide enough for general use but offers a little extra reach which can be handy. and, for the future, it does a nice job on a 5D too if Rich Legg is any kind of example

THanks SS!

went out with camera this morning, was going to shoot autumn leaves, which i did... but i also found about 30 of these in the same area so i was grovelling around in the lead mould for awhile... (all taken with 17-55 @ f/2.8, no flash)

The second one is my favourite, SS. It's cute!
Kinda reminds me of a tot that's figured out how to escape and run away from home, giggling all the while. Waiting for mamma 'shroom to playfully run after it...

i read both statements and would say that moppie did not say he worked on once, he said that he has worked on one.

there was also no claim of being an expert in the field.... - but he does come from a place of knowledge... main gained around the rally scene... and was also a car mech once. well more than once as in the number - but once in a period of time..

please visit this site

www.barryboys.co.uk (external link) - have a look around for what i meant by chav mobiles which unfortunatly the golf gti mk1 , mk2 and now the mk3 have all become.

I only just realised now that I didn't have my Honeypuffs this morning.

I must rectify the situation immediately.
