Buy it.

Peter hows the glamour shooting?

Haven't done anything in a while.
I have organized a shooting in about 2 weeks. I have ordered the Tronix explorer, and want to take my studio lights on location.

Well the good news is your nor a Chav

I thought yours was a company car?

The ultimate hair dressers car was the MGB.
Lots of heritage, good looking, but it was all only skin deep.
Underneath they were very basic, and the performance, was well, more of a marketing ploy than a reality.

Well... mine is a company car... but my wifes car is the golf. I just get the pleasure of having to pay for it. :(

I nearly lost my head in a MG Midget once.
A friend of mine spent ages restoring one, and he was running the motor in, and we where driving to work together behind a milk tanker which slowed, we pulled out to overtake & it turned right into a driveway. We skidded under the tank & luckily hit the back of the truck. The windscreen was pressed down and the tank was about 2 cm from my face!
He got sent home & was allowed to take a couple of days off work as sick leave... I had to do his work.

Evening all
Took a few hours off this afternoon to watch the kids cross-country. Beautiful day for it. All I can say about the run is they run better than I can take photo's of moving objects.

Here's a couple, the first one got a bit of "6 million dollar woman" pose to it:rolleyes:

Hahaha... 6 million dollar woman is right. Blond flowing hair.
The second guy in Steve Austin?

We owned an MGB (mid 1960s model) in the late 70s, soft top, wire wheels, oil leaks, ahhh, I remember it well. Great to drive around Canterbury in the summer with the top down, had to wrap up in winter though, with the top up and the heater on.

I used to work for a guy who had an absolutely mint MGBGT, wire wheels etc. He spent a small fortune getting it restored, then went and bought the first MGF in the country.
He had a wonderful sense of style and is the ultimate "hair dresser":lol:

He also gave me the name Moppie (which for those who have not meet me, also gets used in real life), and taught me most of what I know about good people management, so I have the utmost respect for him.

So long and thanks for all the flash

If you like I can bore everyone to death with an explanation of what makes a hair dressers car.

The trim?

Oh crap!
Lots of fun, but very dangerous
. I saw one a couple of years ago that a modern Japanese motor in it, would have been real rocket ship.

Usually short back and sides, but styled and moosed on top.

Hmm. OK, so what do I do in my Vee when I come off the brakes, go back on the gas and nothing happens for a few seconds? :D ;)

Float level?

Go back on the gas a few seconds before you need to.

oh i forgot this... -

what the one thing you really don't want to do as a '00' rally car driver ?

1. Wrong turn
2. Crash
3. Get photographed crashing on a wrong turn

I hate it when course marshalls pass me while I'm racing in a 3hr cross country :(

What should they be good for? 150000?

Three offers atm, this one which I can afford, and a 1dMkII with 8000 actuations for 2800 which I can't quite afford. And an IRD bill for 1500 which I was going to ignore for a couple of weeks.

edit: As a comparison I've hit about 12000 on my 400D over a year and a half.

No, it's the time it takes for the hamster to get from his water bowl back to the wheel.

yep park it shinny side down in a ditch with all for wheels pointing at the sky.... thats the second time in 4 years he has done this too... - the first attempt involved a barrel role to the right when the road went left........ luckily a tree was in the way by all accounts...

so there could be a vacancy for a 00 driver next year... own car required now as they have run out...

Good guess, but not quite (I am impressed all the same). Float levesl normal affect 'normal' running conditions (like a slight lack of grunt down the back straight at Puke for instance - slight fuel starvation - but not enough to cause popping or crackling etc).

I can't expect you guys to diagnose this sort of thing without seeing the carbs and driving the thing anyway, but when it happens like I described, it's too little accelerator pump. Only really noticeable in a long braking area too, like going into the final corner at Dunlop. Big delay when you get back on the gas cause the throttles open up and the pumps don't send enough gas down there. It's like turning the damn car off as you enter a corner - worse thing is you cannot actually drive around it unless you stay on the gas as you brake (not recommended).

We run really crap weber 308c carbs which are just rubbish. The old original solex carbs were far more predictable. The fact that we no longer run race gas also narrows our window of acceptable performance as far as carb settings goes. The upside to using pump gas it that it is way less abrasive than avgas - which used to chew everything out quickly (like throttle butterfly shafts and the like)

Correct! You are the lucky winner of a hug from me next time we meet! Woohoo! Actually, I have a 'dual hamster' setup. One's a bit fatter than the other so he doesn't run as fast on the wheel the lazy oaf.

I trust this post will serve as useless enough to be considered as a waste of time. I am sure some of you will be dumber for reading this.

Cliff
