company going bust - to much owed by another company and we doubt we can get it .... so no money for this month to pay us, so we can pay our bills. cant afford to wait any longer... the last invoice they paid was december...

so off i go to get some real cash in... and if they finally pay then i can put the money back into the savings..........

Damn, the biggest killer of small business in NZ, customers who don't pay their bills.

You should find a job reasonably easily though, given the shortage of experienced people at the moment.

So long and thanks for all the flash

Chris, that sucks. Sorry to hear :(
If they go into receivership
It's always the First Debenture (banks) and the IRD that get paid first
then staff
3rd debenture is creditors
Being that you invoiced rather than was on salary, I don't like your chances at all :(

Hai!

Mevunky - That's a plan ;)

On an aside - how 'bout this weather lately. The last gasps of summer are quite nice. This week has been quite stunning :)
It was 22 a couple hours ago.

Though I'll be chasing a much warmer climate in just under two weeks time

Weather has been fantastic, unfortunately been stuck inside at new job all week! Lunchtime walks are very nice however, so long may it continue!

Sometimes it'd be nicer to be stuck inside. No matter how much I love the sun (although, I'm quite partial to winter), driving and charming people all day for a living gets tiring.

Chicago weather is too confusing. 45 and raining one day, 72 and sunny the next

There are now direct flights from Dairyflat to the Ghetto, $129 each way including a shuttle from the City.
The 15kg luggage limit might restrict how many bricks you can take though: http://www.nzherald.co.nz …?c_id=1&objectid=10510278 (external link)

Hah - well, next weeks Ghetto and Far North trip has me carting a 1600 x 1600 display board, all the brick slips that go on it, and 80 bricks. Don't think that'll be under 15kg the limit :p
A $129e/w flights in comparison to a 2 hour drive hardly seems worth it.

If my GM sorts out what he is doing, I'll be off to Sydney the week after, though..
