John there is nothing wrong with the 24-105 its also a new design than the 24-70.

Progear is looking after us. Which is great to see. Their service is second to none.
AC have more bits and bobs.

Thanks Tony! How's the family? How's the new mutt? Presumably well behaved?

Yes, Progear take care of us very well... I am actually surprised with how much lower they can quote first time around... I was at AC today (yes, I dared to venture into AC - thank go dI didn't have a Q card!) and thought Nick's price was alright... until Paul reverted... I probably would've gotten a better price if Graham was in country...:p But I can't fault Paul's price points -- really sharp.

I'm actually swaying toward the 24-105 more for versatility as a walk around lens... though the 24-70 has received so much good reviews... but I would have to lug the 70-200 around if I wanted more reach...

I 2nd the 24 - 105 + other toys ... makes more sense. The 24 - 70 is a great lens but the 24 - 105 would be a better walkaround.

i really love my 24-105, i think you would be happy with it and you can always get the 24-70 next year if you want the wider aperture

All good, except it is "Medialess". So it just the license's. No actual software.
(I saw that on "that who shall remain nameless suppliers" web site.)

Couple of problems:
If your GA16 has a noisy cam belt you might want to check your flux capacitor fluid level.
If it's low it can cause the cam belt to squeak.

Fortunately the problem is more likely a noisy accessory belt (because the GA16 uses a chain, not a belt, to drive the cam).
It likely just needs tightening, not a hard job at all. Half a turn with a spanner on the adjuster it often all they need.

Media kits are a waste of time these days, you just download the demo from MS's website in a few mins and plug in the key. So medialess kits are a very good option, I use them at work all the time for our new machines etc.

Thank you for the advice :D shows how much I know about cars

My brain figured the GIANT belt of beltyness was a cam belt, I assume it just drives the air con etc? I guess crises averted and ill have a friend help me tighten the belt / service is soon anyway.

So assuming this information the worst that will happen is my air con wont be so happy or other acc's, mebbe alternator belt?

Might have found a good, sound, and most importantly legal solution to getting some copies of Excel.
It is still not cheap, but then nothing in business ever is.

The worst that could happen to you car is the belt snaps and you lose your power steering, which could make the car impossible to control, depending on how good a driver you are, and how strong you are.

But, you will be able to see wear on the belt a long time before it gets that bad.

So long and thanks for all the flash

Enlighten us on your devious plan? or PM.

Excellent, ill be servicing it in a week or two anyway, advice is much appreciated. :)

Wait a min, actually ive been moaning about my power steering getting seemingly weaker for a while now, mebbe this is why? Ok so mebbe this is more important than I thought. At full lock it no longer pulls back and I can go around in circles without touching the wheel from stationary to any speed pretty much.

Anyway enough about cars and more about 24-70 being 2.8 and imo thats worth it for the low light I tend to always find myself in indoors, but then again with a 580ex all is well....

And you can also actually feel the road/feel like you are really driving. It's quite enjoyable outside of town imo.

hmmm, what to do...
24-105L + other toys... (filters, Spyder2 or 3, new monopod...) - a good walkaround...

Go for this one John. You would make it more worth it at least you can calibrate your screen and having cool looking pictures from the filters you are going to get. By the way I like your pot picture looks cool ;)

Damn, I really wana get the 1d3 problem is I am too young haha. oh well on the bright side I'll just make do with what I have
