1 of the things that bugs me is the amount of money we pay in insurances i.e life insurance. Works out around $250 per month.

So do we need it? Does anyone here know of anyone who has claimed it?

there's a few different types of life insurance
- straight out insurance where you pay in, kick the bucket & they pays out to your spouse
- complicated type where you pay in, kick the bucket & they pays out to your spouse, OR the end date kicks in and they pays out to you. Can't think what it's called but it's almost like a superannuation scheme, and you can make "withdrawls" before the expiry date, so to speak.
Guess wether you "need" it depends on your situation & how well spouse would cope in the event of your untimely demise. Suspect in most cases folks would want to have the mortgage covered...

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Hi, I have just stumbled upon this awesome forum, hopefully you will see a bit more of me as time allows :)

1 of the things that bugs me is the amount of money we pay in insurances i.e life insurance. Works out around $250 per month.

That amount sounds pretty steep, but I guess it depends on how much you are insured for. I am paying around $30 per month for I think what is around 400k cover if that helps

Canvart have an excellent reputation and some quite good deals as well.

I can second the recommendation for Canvart, their prices are really good - especially the free delivery, and they are really helpful - I tend to be quite fussy and pedantic and this didnt worry them at all

I have one which diminishes in value to match the amount of my mortgage left to pay. So the earlier my wife gets rid of me... the more she gets. I did it like that to keep the cost down. By the time I retire there is nothing left

I still haven't got mine. After numerous emails... Not impressed. Way over the twenty day time they gave me AFTER they recieved all the orders. I've already missed a friends birthday and I wanted to take one overseas with me but wont be able to soon.

This promo has definitely done them more harm than good. Anyone thinking about using them again??

I use Giclee on the north shore... slightly cheaper than Canvart :)
But as mentioned a few pages ago - I certainly wont be getting client prints done at Digital Max - the quality is pretty poor really... especially when i have others to compare it to.. Typically they reckon its only a 10 business day wait. With this promo I expected a week or two longer, but not the 6 weeks it took for ours to arrive...

Mine were on the doorstep this morning, I am quite happy with them, (I have nothing to compare them to) although I thought the borders were going to be thicker, they are only like 2cm or something, I was expecting 6 - 8cm

For small business's MYOB or Quickbooks are pretty good, not free but decent.
