errr, has anyones canvases from digitalmax, besides mine, NOT arrived yet?

lil_miss wrote in post #5965487 (external link)
I use Giclee on the north shore... slightly cheaper than Canvart :)
But as mentioned a few pages ago - I certainly wont be getting client prints done at Digital Max - the quality is pretty poor really... especially when i have others to compare it to.. Typically they reckon its only a 10 business day wait. With this promo I expected a week or two longer, but not the 6 weeks it took for ours to arrive...

Still nothing for us... not urgent, but this is getting fairly ridiculous.

stand 5 yards infront of the play. and walk the touch lines. shoot waste hight and always get face and ball in the shot if you can...

spend a little bit of the game behind the touch line to get on coming play also keep the shutter speed up above 640 if you can to freeze the play - ball and movement blur don't look good ...

In other news, 2 months till Brissy, (though, I almost scammed a ticket to the Bledisloe this weekend.. ), 2 and a bit months till Paris, Rome and Tuscany. 11 months till the boat cruise around Spain and Greece, and a tad more till Hawaii.

Well arn't you just the little jet setter! :p

Sounds like you have really landed on your feet selling bricks and it was meant to be.

So long and thanks for all the flash

This year is likely to be the first time in recorded history that the north pole will be without ice over summer :)

Of course. And the entire european continent was under ice 15000 years ago too. But it ain't now......but I digress (or perhaps I don't)

This is (pardon the pun) one of those polarising issues that people will never agree on. Some think it's based on bad-science, some think it's fact and current climate is proof enough of that etc.

I'm sick of it being an economic issue. It should NEVER be an issue of money. But is has become just that. When money became a big factor in it all, I turned off immediately.

The only thing worse than doing something wrong while trying to work out a solution is to ignore the problem.

I'm not ignoring it, I just don't care. :) Feel free to hate me all you want for ruining your kid's future habitat and all. I am happy with my 'carbon foot-print'. Actually, I am carbon-based myself, but as long as I am not cremated, it should be OK. Then again my rotting corpse might release gases that could harm the ozone layer. :p

(by the way, before you get seriously offended, I am egging you on here.... )

Moppie wrote in post #5973032 (external link)
Yip, 18-55 it is. same range as the old one, even looks similar to the mircoUSM version.

Cool. Not that I ever use my kit lense any more.

Moppie wrote in post #5973032 (external link)
The front element rotates (which makes using filters a pain as well) and manual focus grip is simply the outside of the front element.
It is also a little loose and sloppy, so if you let it go and moves slightly.
Same as the old kitlens, but the mechanism has been tightened slightly.

I can only believe that it must be tonnes cheaper to make a lens(e) that has a rotating front element - otherwise it makes perfect sense to have a static front element.

Moppie wrote in post #5973032 (external link)
Over all it was nice little camera, just the grip around the shutter button was far to small. The buttons were all well placed and thought out, and the controls were nice and easy to figure out to.

Not sure if you can turn it off (there is probably a setting somewhere) but the fact that the LCD stays on bugs the crap out of me. And the fact that so of the info moved from the view finder to the LCD.

It just felt like someone had built a really nice single seater race car, then ruined it by sticking a VW motor in the back..........

Touche! I'll be back in a minute, I'm going away to cry for a bit. But I know you want to try the car don't you? Huh? Huh? Huh?

Stop being so serious you "newly crowned" moderator you. And I am going away to cry now.

Tough crowd :p
I guess it's deserved when I don't jump in the middle of a convo and flick my 2p into it ;)

And I just scored a 300k contract for work. W00t, at least when I leave, I go out with a bang :D

And still doing Architectural shooting, too :)

Haven't you gone yet?.....

I know you are Cliff :)

And I can understand why people get fed up with certain elements of the whole 'movement' - there are idiots in every field. It's not supposed to be a blame game... my view is that in general, you and I have little to do with the vast majority of the cause of most human influence on the planet. But if you happen to pay $10 for a lightbulb that will last you 5 times as long as one that costs $3, AND it happens to cost you less in electricity, AND it happens to be good for the environment... well, it's a small up-front pain for a pretty big gain. If you happen to choose to shop with a company that attempts to off-set it's footprint, then perhaps more such companies will take notice. It's not a big deal, just a different way of appreciating where you are.

None, I'd go for soft grad (unless you're talking Australian landscapes in the desert).

Hard edge ones do have there uses but the most commonly used would be the soft.

Anyway, back to more important stuff. If any of you Aucklanders haven't got anything usefull to do tomorrow afternoon, you are more than welcome to lend a hand/shovel/drive a wheelbarrow at my place tomorrow afternoon. 2.5 meters of concrete to be wheelbarrowed & placed.
