You bloody boy racers.....I don't know. More money in them there cars than....ah, well, um, something that normally has a lot of money put into it.

I hope it actually makes your car work more efficiently and that you don't cause more noise and air pollution..... Actually, screw that, as long as it makes it evens faster!

Then you can beat me in my crappy L300 to the next set of lights 100m down the road, cool!

Eagerly awaiting photos of said items mounted in said ride.

CF

Hehe :p Car still 100% mechanically standard apart from this. Not a random upgrade, car had a factory fault with the stock manifold-turbo missing a lug and therefore warping. Don't know if it will be faster, hopefully just not slower :)

How did you know what I wanted to do? but which one?

I'd get the 2 & 3 stop. If you get reasonable quality ones, there is not too much of an issue by stacking them to provide more range.

But, as young Cliffe stated, soft/hard, depends upon what your shooting.

well just had a play with the new canon kit lens with IS.

I was rather impressed with it, the zoom is smoth, and focus is speed if fast and quite, inifintly better than the old one.
The manual focus has been improved, but is still crap though.
And, the IS really works, and works well.
The 450D it was attached to however was cramped and difficult to use.

Yay and nay. New kit lens is pretty cool, 450D even cooler. I hate to say it but I quite like it, not a lot it doesn't do really.

Moppie wrote in post #5973032 (external link)
As a budget everyday lens, if it is under $250 (comparable to the old kit lens) then it would be an absolute bargain. We know the old lens was capable optically, and we know the new lens is better. The addition of IS and improved focus would make a great light weight travel lens, or occasional use lens for someone who doesn't do a lot of wide angle work, or a great first lens for someone new to the hobby and working on a budget.

We've had one in the shop as a stand-alone for ages. About $3XX I think...

And I just scored a 300k contract for work. W00t, at least when I leave, I go out with a bang :D

And still doing Architectural shooting, too :)

You never answered me last time Mrs Cryptic, you leaving the job? And for what?

Woot! New car parts arrived today!

* Stainless manifold ( these are f'n beautiful!! looks like it should be a table centrepiece or something)
* T3T4 Turbo ( eeek.. it's big)
* T3T4 'zorst flange
* DPR 38mm wastegate (oooh shiny red)
* Turbo install kit
* Turbo-I/C silicone pipe

Sure, it cost a king's ransom but it was cheaper than buying genuine parts. I am installing on saturday, will take pictures as it goes

(please note the gratuitous photography reference at end of post)

It'll make whooshy noises! 8)

I use my 2 and 3 stops the most, but do have all three.

In other photo related news, I had a play with a D700 today. No images, as we're trying to keep it as untouched as possible due to the expected demand for it, but it makes my 5D seem like a bit of a joke. Lovely thing. Yours for $5225.

Cheers, Dave.

To be quite honest Tony, if the pictures live up to the hype I'd take one over your camera if it weren't for the fact we've bought into a system. Makes the D3 and 1D's seem pointless...

Cheers, Dave.

LOL.

It's got to be said my general fever to do with cameras died about three hours after my first day working in a camera shop, and essentially they're all the bloody same and it's the tool behind it that is the bit that matters. So in light of that fact, me being quite impressed with the D700 so far is a bit unusual for me. ;)

Cheers, Dave.

Yep I have to much invested in lens,flashes, and accessorys.

Also PP can do a lot to any photo no matter the camera.

lol in totally unrelated news, i was showing the kids an original disney cartoon with donald & chip n dale, and in his workshop, donald had a can of ar$e! it was quite clearly marked and i had to think about it for a minute before i realised it was probably meant to be arsenic and the rest of the name was around the back of the tin!

still quite disturbing - but not nearly as much

:lol:

Caldina! :)

So you'll be taking the bus to work on monday? :lol::lol:

Is the T3/T4 bigger than the stock turbo?
It would certainly have room to run more boost if the rest of the system can keep up with it :cool:

So long and thanks for all the flash
