oh ok - whats wrong - or is that classed as asking...

Just learning curves I hope :)

Took about 100 shots today, every one under-exposed. Looked at both playback and histogram, seemed to be alright. It was probably the nature of the shots I was taking though. It was a terribly bad day for light, so not too worried, taken with a mixture of AV and M
Some of the stationary object were OOF, working through now with what settings I took them with.

Bought a couple of memory cards to use, 4 gig CF and SD.
Had trouble formatting the SD card last night, used low level format, seemed to work, turned on camera this morning and it said card wasn't formatted.
CF card formatted alright. Used it today. I figure about 10 shots taken haven't appeared when I went to download, numbering system shows that shots were taken and I didn't delete them. Shots missing were after a change of lens.
One shot corrupted.
Just have to figure out if it was the camera or the cards that were the problem. I have an older 2 gig card which I can try.
Have formatted all cards with the computer tonight so that might make a difference.

I'll PP one of the better BIF shots and put it up.

Sounds tricky, hope it all works out fine.

did you hear about the storm? how long does concrete take to set anyhow?

It will be set in good time for the "storm" but being almost 2 hours late ment that it didn't get 2 hours of warmer temperatures to help it set. Plus, having to float it again (twice now:evil:) which brings up the water to the top means more delay in final trowling. Combined with the delay means doing it in the dark (well under lights) which is not the best way to do concreting.

However, it is done now & if the cats get on it again, one of them is going to end up in it!!

Generally, the longer concrete takes to set, the stronger it gets but when you have to keep working it to get rid of cat prints, the surface deteriates.

Here ends concrete lesson 101, you should have come & helped.

My son lost his first barrow load out of the mixer, didn't realise how heavy it was going to be: very funny:D

Its probably a documentary about snakes who live on a big flat area of land!

My Dad managed that.
He loved fly fishing.

I have the skyports & have done photos at 1 / 250th without any shadow.

Hmmm, what are the skyports worth?

silly question time: is less really more?
I'll be checking out a printer tomorrow, which one of these would be more worth printing?

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

I have now had a look at my canvases. I'm very happy with them for twenty five each. I got two South African images done for overseas friends I met there so I can't wait to give them the canvases. The quality isn't as good as my other ones done by a local camera shop in Levin. As mentioned before the 'height' of the canvas is only about 1.5cm as opposed to at least 1" and on one of the canvases the white edge comes onto the actual image instead of just being a border. Still I'm just rapt with them and I will have them in time for my trip to Melbourne and Hong Kong!

Mine arrived today.
I'm "happy" with it as a print and "very happy" as a print at that price.

I did choose a shot that would look good on canvas (sunset, bright graduated colours, not a lot of detail)

#2 More of a snow pano than a pano with a bit of snow in it.

Second one.
The road leads in a bit more, and on the first one there is a stitching error on the top left.

I ordered another set through Tim recently, 1 X Universal Set (1x TX & 1 X RX) which were $290.00 incl GST plus a little bit of freight ex B&H. This is a little bit cheaper than my origional set purchased through APIX

Today should be interesting, just checking the Herald site.

"Waitakere Civil Defence manager Bill Morley hoped people would use common sense.
He said driving would be treacherous and coastal areas such as Piha and Karekare were expecting huge seas.
"If the weather hits us as is predicted people should only go outdoors if they absolutely have to," he said."

Should hit around lunch time.

If its as bad as they are claiming (bearing in mind the media are Doomsday mongers) good luck to all you folk in the danger zone. Few extra rolls of gaffer tape might be on the shopping list!

No, this is for real, already just above Whangarei, gusting winds of 100kms. Yup, gaffer tape, candles at the ready and I guess better stay indoors, tempting as it is!
