When you lot do your editing, do you do a save for print version of your images? (Yes I know LR lets you save the metadata and export when you need to). If you do, what size print and resolution do you keep saved?

The good 1's I may want to print are saved as tiff, uncompressed and full size. I think they are all 240 DPI

I save a Tiff file of anything I want to print.

Then, when it comes time to print I just export them as high res JPEG's, or to a batch conversion with photoshop.

It's not the most efficient use of disk space, but I have terrabytes of it.

So long and thanks for all the flash

But do you save it out to a particular size?

I've been keeping 24x16's @ 300dpi of any image I edit up and display anywhere, bigger in the case of triptychs, compilation shots or panoramics. Just wondering if it's a bit stupid...

Cheers, Dave.

I usually save the .PSD of anything i really Like. I think that comes from the whole design background and having to edit images at a later date. I keep all my layers and and adjustments etc so its all editable. I then just flatten an image i may want to send to print. The size depends on the dpi but i keep it as high as I can.

I don't worry about res and dpi, I just save it at its original size.
As I don't print at home, I let the printer worry about the rest, and have never had an issue.

So long and thanks for all the flash

I'd actually not even thought about that, but looking at it, I assume you had a fair view so yeah, I'll go with your definition!

I know I can simply go for a wander in the forest and snap birdies, or go to the beach or whatever, but 1, I don't really have the time to walk around looking for pretty scenes etc and 2, landscapes and all that simply isnt inspiring me. I am wanting to practice either action shots or model shots or lighting really.

There's your 'green' box, now think outside it.

I take that as a compliment. Regarding the 'god' comment,

I think he meant Tommy:p
