Had to do some school photos today. Had 3 "office" ladys try to organise me and tell me what to do and how to do it.
I have a VERY sore tounge.

Why is it everyone a bloody expert yet they never do it themselves

Nice work Brent, starting to mix up the styles a bit for 365 eh? Doesn't have as much of the trademark bright sunshine vs hard flash look. Much softer, and yes, sexier - all works very well.

...and yes, happy birthday to Kirst too.

Happy birthday Kirst :) Have a good one.

Scott - re; ps3, this was seen with my own eyes. Picture was rubbish. Setup was correct and calibrated. Could have been a faulty machine given the decry of everyone so I'll let it rest. (And given I haven't seen a movie on one since ...)

Cheers, Shane.

You would be unwise to condemn the PS3 on viewing 1 machine. There are plenty of people getting excellent PQ out of PS3s. I'll leave it there too:rolleyes:

Same as I paid for my 300. Lens prices have dropped.
Almost tempted to grab a 1Dsmk2 and ditch the 5D.

EDIT ......nah 1Dsmk3 for me :)

minutes before her birthday

QUOTED IMAGE

this was a 15 second exposure with the lighting being my trusty focus helper - aka an led pen light (hence the wind in the hair effect....) :)

right now I have to skip off to Roto's - I'll post some more when I get back tonight.....needless to say Kirst, there are a number of oof photos.... and that number is quite large........ Night shoots are not for me it seems - LOL!

Happy birthday Kirst. Very sexy photo.
SHould be marked as NWS ;)

sothen wrote in post #5337611 (external link)
one more, because it's only fair that we prove that age brings wisdom........ :D

that Kirst is a clever monkey in her own right.... see - rocking 2 lights and getting the exposure WAY closer than mine.... :D

QUOTED IMAGE

That's pretty cool. I like how the back light outlines like that.

Two lights open lots of possibilities.

The jump between 5D and 1Dsmk2 isnt big enough. Keep the 5D for another year. Let the 1Dsmk3 prices settle. Allow the house hold income to rise and HP paid off then new tool.
