And, Lonnie, that light could be a train  proceed with caution.

 Thanks for the warning!

Just a quick hello in passing. I am off to enjoy the Fiesta festivities downtown. Its a city-wide party for 10 days thrown every year (I bet Becky remembers) much like Mardi Gras without the flashing for beads. Here is a link if interested in the festivities (external link).

I hope to get some pictures while there.

Dan, like all the new avi's you've posted just recently....I like Jaime's the most...looks erie.

Nice bridge rant Deb. I bet that would be a great subject to do a 365 shots in a year project on.

Well folks...off to the party.

Here's a mini rant, as I start working on the Gold Country photos. A couple shots for Paul's book (non-infrareds, this time):

Admit it. You were a boy scout.

Nope. Never made it that far. Did Cub Scouts, then Webelos (what ever that was. Somewhere between Cub and Boy they stuck in a Webelo.) Most of the time the "Pack Leader" was trying to get me to calm down and quit running around like some Jungle Chimp.

I want to be at a place where they have 10 day long parties.

Beauty shots, Lonnie. What's the significance of the rock on the headstone?

Jewish folks don't place flowers at graves, they put a rock on top of the headstone. Some say it is because flowers wilt but rocks are permanent, or that the money spent on flowers should be given to charity.

I did not know that. Fascinating. Huh.

Oh, and Joey rocks. :D but not in the same way that Jewish headstones rock... he rocks in another way ... just not... oh, forget it.

It's an old Jewish custom (external link). Instead of flowers, they place rocks on the grave or headstone to pay their respects.

Placing coins on a grave is another tradition that originated as a Jewish custom, but that seems to be much more common in all cemeteries now, in my experience.

GMAE Kids.

Crissa, I always enjoy your photos of these guys. Even though it's saddening to me seeing so many adults like this it's nice to see they're being well cared for. That one of the guy kissing his dinosaur always gets to me. :)
