It's different in that you're looking at the screen instead of the paper. That took some getting used to. The "pen" that I use does adapt to pen pressure. The lines get darker and fatter as I press harder. The tablet itself has eight different buttons that can be customized. I'm not sure how to do that yet. I haven't read that far. The old wacom that I had was very unresponsive, sluggish. This is extremely sensitive and quick. There is a further learning curve in that there is so much potential with this item, I'm afraid I'll never get a good grasp on all it can do. That coupled with the recent addition of CS3, I'm afraid my brain will explode before the weekend is out.

There are many things you can do with a tablet. It is possible to configure the tablet drivers so it behaves differently in different applications. You can configure it to do one thing in Photoshop CS# and something entirely different in Photoshop Elements.

In CS3 there are settings within each brush, pencil or pen tool that allow you to regulate how the pen reacts to pressure. You can even turn off the pressure sensitivity to make a line of consistent size. the possibilities are endless...

Good Morning Folks :D
And it still is for our good friends in the UK too. ;)

I really would like to sleep in more on weekend. Was up at 3:30 today, but did fall asleep early, by 11:00 last night, oh well.

Around here we lock the doors when we are in the house.

I have been to a couple customers house that did that too. I must admit I might be too trusting of a person, I like to put more faith in folks then I probably really should. Yes, it has bit me in the ass a few times when I was taken advantage of, but I also believe this disposition is an advantage with the vast majority of people as it sets them at ease. I really hate worrying and stressing about things.

sorry Robert...that's exactly how I felt...I was going to bed and I just got stuck looking at them...his desert shots are unbelievable...seriously...I'm just blown away.

He does have some great shots, when I first looked I was very much wowed too. One thing I did notice is that he seems to really push the processing in every last shot. They seem more artistic then true to life. I would not even have a clue as to how to do the processing he does to achieve this vibrant look. I suck too. :(

One thing I did notice though, that in his favourites gallery, every last shot seems to be taken at, or before, sunset or sunrise, and it is also the case in most of his other shots as well. This gives him that warm colouring to begin with. I usually am not even thinking of taking photos at this time of day, though I really should try it more often.

So should I. I guess they call it the Golden Hour for a reason. We're about to go out and test that today.

okay...really have you ever seen someone else's shots and just thought "if I could ever do that, I'd KNOW I was a photographer?"

well Scotlet posted this guy's gallery over in RRTP. The guy lives in Corvallis...shoots all the same landscapes that I do and I don't have one thing...not one in my gallery that can compare. HOW CAN SOMEONE LOOK AT THE SAME thing and shoot such amazing shots?? I'm in awe....

Hmm. Yesterday I got the dreaded err-01 on my 40D with the tammy. Power-cycling the camera seemed to do the trick.

Mike our Tammy gave us Err-99 when we first got it. Sent it in for repair and has worked like a charm ever since. So test if it is your camera or lens.

Sounds like a great opportunity is knocking, Becky.

Sounds like a good way for us to test the waters and eventually earn a bit of extra cash. Not crazy about having to shoot someone elses style, but that happens when you work for a studio. We'll see what pans out.

Cool stuff Becky, the one tulip is about to burst forth :D

Now, if this think blanket of heavy snow would melt, we just might find some flowers emerging through it. Maybe I could find some wild crocuses. :D

Does anyone else have the issue of Lightroom bogging down the computer, quite badly at times. I have been going through a schwack of photos from last year, mostly culling out the unwanted ones and doing a few quick preliminary edits. It keeps freezing up my PC to the point things are extremely slow, or not doing anything at all. I have a fairly new, fast PC too. When I check in Windows Task Manager is says it is using 1,400,000 K memory, is this normal? When I shut it down, everything returns to normal.

A normal load time for a photo in Lightroom has been about 5-10 seconds as well, just wondering if that is what others find too.
