The guy lives in Corvallis...shoots all the same landscapes that I do and I don't have one thing...not one in my gallery that can compare. HOW CAN SOMEONE LOOK AT THE SAME thing and shoot such amazing shots?? I'm in awe.... http://Wildphoto.smugmug.com …762_r2k28#202863048_Vk3B7 Great composition in my mind WAY over precessed. It is his art and well done just a bit over the top for me. There comes a point it stops looking like a picture. Thats what I heard, depends who you ask. When you load your pics, do you load them to preview at full size? That usually takes quite a while. If I don't have a lot of time, I load them up with the 'initial preview' box on minimal or standard instead of 1:1.

I don't wanna go to my room BearLeeAlive wrote in post #5407335 Does anyone else have the issue of Lightroom bogging down the computer, quite badly at times. I have been going through a schwack of photos from last year, mostly culling out the unwanted ones and doing a few quick preliminary edits. It keeps freezing up my PC to the point things are extremely slow, or not doing anything at all. I have a fairly new, fast PC too. When I check in Windows Task Manager is says it is using 1,400,000 K memory, is this normal? When I shut it down, everything returns to normal. A normal load time for a photo in Lightroom has been about 5-10 seconds as well, just wondering if that is what others find too. I've been having some performance issues with LR beta and my computer. I've been trying to diagnose the problem, but can't seem to figure it out. I've noticed a slow down with my browser too, but I think that is due to the aircard that I am using for broadband. Jon wrote in post #5407490 NO! Cat has NOT been banned. She's merely fallen afoul of the network issues (not, I might add, on the POTN servers) that have been causing many people to have problems connecting. Pekka has found that several major ISPs and backbones have had failed links; when routers don't re-route traffic around those bad sections, your connection gets lost in oblivion. That is all. Simply looking at her title should have reassured everyone. Thanks for the explanation Jon. I guess I better pay all my internet route tolls to be able to reach POTN cfpackerfan wrote in post #5407916 Just a thought... When you load your pics, do you load them to preview at full size? Everyone makes notes, and then can note what wines they like once the labels are revealed. Often it is a less expensive wine someone has found that gets one of the better reviews. That sounds like so much fun! 3Turner wrote in post #5408000 Is that on the develop module or when importing? That's on import. It's the very last option on the import box. It's the very last option on the import box. Of course, when you import at less than standard size, then it has to render a full size preview for every photo you open. It just doesn't do them all the same time. So it's still time one way or the other. Just depends on when you want to wait for it. ![]() I leave that at the default 'minimal'. So i guess that is not what's bogging me down. But I know what you mean about rendering a full size shot. It has that 'loading' box at the bottom of the screen for a few seconds each time I change shots. Robert | Gear |
