No... The dog. Ginormous plot hole, there. I could drive a Mack truck through it. ;)

I have been sorting through a few more pictures form last week. One of the most incredible things about India is the huge contrast between the modern vibrant forward looking country that is pushing its economic growth at 8.5% per year, and the abject poverty that still exists.

These two pictures were taken less than 500 yards apart.

On a lighter note, here is how you carry a passenger and three wheelbarrows on a moped (note it is heading away from you)

I got the lens from pcnation.com. I looked at their return policy and I wouldn't be able to exchange it unless canon gave me a code to exchange it. Which doesnt make any sense. I think I am going to pass on the 120-300. the more I think about it the more I realize that I could put the $180 towards other things I actually need.

That return policy doesn't make any sense :|. Good that you want to wait. I would too...put the money to better use like you said.

Yeah the idiots who thought they were above the law/barracades just HAD to drive through there.... Idiots.... We had many river rescues during those floods due to idiots driving into and getting overcome by the high waters...

Yeah, we have those type of people here too....they get fined $500 to $1000 when the FD has to come get them out of harms way....usually the PD is just on the other side of the 2nd set of barricades to ticket those who do make it through.

Interesting pictures there, Neil. I've never heard of a car called a Tata. Funky license plates they have, too.

Tata is a HUGE company in India. They started off as a steel producer and now they are into everything, steel, cars, telecoms in fact you name it and they are into it (LINK (external link))

This month they bought Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford so I guess I now drive a Tata :-)

The driver is facing forward and waving the passenger is facing to the rear and hanging on to the wheelbarrows :-)

I was just reading that page on Wikipedia, actually. I Googled it after posting. It's interesting how a company can be so enormous on one side of the world and pretty much unheard of elsewhere...

Well that's good. So the water level never crests above the banks? It does down here often around all the normal dry creeks.

Occasionally like last summer, but the trees are lost to the river. Some shots from last summer:

The River:

IMAGE: http://performancephoto.us/images/Beckysgallery/20070821-IMG_1147.jpg

This playground is several yards from the river, normally
IMAGE: http://performancephoto.us/images/Beckysgallery/20070821-IMG_1146.jpg

Same dam as posted earlier, other side though. The fencing on the other side of the river is the millrace inlet:

The Millrace behind the mill, the statues would be up stream about 20 yards from here:

I'll take pictures from similar locations, hopefully tomorrow to give you a better idea. I drive past this park everyday.

Right now I have to leave for our shoot, catch you all later.

Hello Fine Folks

7 hours at a HUGE country bar made my head hurt today, but I sure did have myself some fun. The guy I went with is 4 years older than me, but the average age was probably still under 25 despite our tipping of the scales.

Tonight will be easier on me, going to friends for dinner, wine and games.

My birthday is in two weeks but I did a bit of shopping today and Lisa got me THIS. (external link)

Mucho gusto.

Looks great Dan, congrats. Looking forward to the review.

Man, I've been waiting a long time to post this one:

Gear Wars: Captain Plastic Sheets!

LMAO Some how Captain Plastic Sheets does not carry as much of a Meany Head aura any more.

Happy Unbirthday, Jim!

Thanks Lonnie, I must be getting back to a reasonable age by now.

Funny how things just kind of all fell into place without me even putting any effort into it, huh?

Kinda like the quote of mine Jamie used in his siggy. :D

if you guys had a preference, would it be the

color

or monotone

or neither

I too like both, though it is a great photo to use for monotone.

Ali got given a bird table, so I've planted it outside the kitchen window and loaded it with breakfast cereal.

What's a bird table

Sunny and dry... The temperature here at my house broke 90° sometime between 0930 and 1230 while I was out meeting with the Chief. It's showing almost 93° right now.

Seriously, that heat would kill me. The only way I could stand it would be to be on the beach with a wobbly pop in my hand. :D

thomascanty wrote in post #5315169 (external link)
I watched a couple episodes of that when it debuted. I never could get into it. There were a couple huge gaping holes in the plot that I just couldn't get past.
