Ok so im a noob to photagraphy, but am very intrested in it and need a cam that will introduce me to the scene. I first though about a lower end DSLR, but i cant really spend that kind of money on a cam now, or anytime soon. I hear the Canon SX100IS is a great Point and shoot, and i hear image quality is great. Im mostly going to be doing Photoshoots of my cars in various locations, also going to be taking some Motocross pics. But mainly for cars. Im looking for soemthing that will give me excellent quality, not too grainy, rather clear pics when i load them on the internet. Will the SX100IS offer me that? I think ive enough research to proof that it will, i thought id come here to talk to some experts.
Also any sample pics with a SX100IS that i can check out?

Thanks All.
Tyler

A number of SX100 users have posted. There's a thread here, among others.

I love this camera. My brother has one and it takes some amazing photos!!!

I think if I were to have to replace my S3 (which I hope to never do as it is my favorite P&S) I would go this route...

Canon EOS 30D * Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 * Canon 70-200mm f/4L

Awesome pics! I have one, I go for it when I am taking pics even though I have access to a higher end p&S. I miss wide angle sometimes but other than that it's been great. I like that it uses AA batteries because I have a modest supply of quality rechargable AA batteries.
