Noman Owners a ?

Hi all,

I've owned the Norman 400b portable setup and found it to perform very well. Solid build ...reliable product.

I searched this forum for Norman lights and I really didn't find what I was looking for...

I'm in the market for a nice light setup...

Does anyone own the following?
Norman D12R 1200ws Digital Power Supply with Built-in PocketWizard

If so... what are your thoughts about the setup?

How about this...
If you had a budget of $3500-4000... with the idea of a 3 light setup...stands...softb​ox...background stands...etc... what would you buy.

Looking for : Solid build... matched lights... easy to work with... easy to control. Power packs would be the direction I would like to go. Or...like the Hensles... remote adjustments.

I'd probably go for something like the Profoto Acutes.

http://www.precision-camera.com/product/501​-006 That one is only a 2 head setup though I'm sure if you looked around a bit, you could get a nice 3 head setup for less than that. But this is on location lighting though, and it's pretty damn powerful for what it is. It also has a pocketwizard build into the battery pack, so it's quite nice!

Here's another alternative that I liked too, but I don't have your budget.

I also liked the Broncolors, I had the pleasure of using them when a rep came over to ACC to show them to us, and I like them as well. No clue how much they cost though.

Then again.. I liked using the normans a LOT, and I'm going to get some of my own.

The reason I like these so much is that they've taken a LOT of abuse and use from literally hundreds of students at ACC, and their output of power and ease of use is very nice indeed.

Ive kinda been wondering the same thing and had my heart set on a Norman setup for quite some time. But after searching through the forum, Ive found that not a lot of people use norman lights. So now Im thinking, okay, what setup should I be looking at all thing included in the $3000-$5000 range?

I went with the Elinchrom Ranger RX/AS It will be here this week... I hope. Looking forward to using it... with a few speedlights... should be fun.
